Ringlink

User Policy

Effective July 4, 2026

This page is maintained by RingLink_HK ("we", "us") to explain what data and information we receive from users of the Ringlink app and website (collectively, "Ringlink"), how we collect it, and what we do with it. Contact us any time at cs@ringlink.app.

1. What we receive from you

We only receive information that you actively provide, or that is necessary to make a feature work. We do not access your phone contacts, call logs, or message history.

  • Numbers and usernames you enter. When you type or paste a phone number, Instagram/Telegram/Facebook/WeChat username, or scan a QR code, that input is used on your device to build the chat link. It is not stored on our backend unless you choose to save or share it.
  • Name-card content. If you create a shareable name card, we store the fields you fill in (name, title, company, phone, email, website, address, photo, logo, social links, and chosen design) so the share link and QR code can be viewed by others.
  • Account information. If you sign up or sign in, your account is managed by our auth provider. We receive your user ID and email address only for the purpose of linking your saved cards to your account.
  • Feedback. If you send feedback from Settings, we store the message, optional email, and — if signed in — your account ID so we can reply.
  • Approximate location. We call a public IP-geolocation service once when the app loads to guess your country and pre-select the right dialing code. We do not store your IP address or precise location.
  • Device and browser signals. We may receive standard browser information (screen size, user-agent string, preferred language) to adapt the interface. This is processed locally or by our hosting provider and is not used to identify you personally.

2. How we collect data

Most of the information you use in Ringlink stays on your device, in your browser's local storage. We only collect data on our backend when you explicitly choose a cloud-backed feature:

  • Local only. Recent numbers, dial history, theme choices, and scanned cards are saved in your browser and never sent to us.
  • Cloud when you publish. Shareable name cards are saved to our backend database and storage so the link works for anyone you share it with.
  • Cookies and analytics. Advertising partners such as Google AdSense may place cookies. See our Privacy Policy for details and opt-out choices.

3. Why we use it

We use the limited information we receive only to:

  • Generate the messaging link or call you requested.
  • Host and display your shareable name card.
  • Keep your account and saved cards synced across devices.
  • Answer your feedback or support questions.
  • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • Show non-personalised or personalised ads, depending on your cookie consent.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your information to build an advertising profile outside of the choices you make in the cookie consent banner.

4. What stays on your device

The following never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself:

  • Numbers you have recently dialed or messaged.
  • QR codes and cards you scanned into History.
  • Name-card drafts before you publish them.
  • Your selected theme, accent color, and other app preferences.

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser storage for Ringlink, or by using the clear-history option in the app.

5. Shared cards and public links

When you publish a name card, you create a public link (e.g. /c/your-card-code). Anyone with that link can view the card details you included. Do not publish information you want to keep private. You can delete or edit a shared card from Settings → My saved cards at any time.

6. Your choices

You can:

  • Use Ringlink without signing in. Your data stays local.
  • Sign in to save, edit, or delete cards from any device.
  • Delete any shared card you created.
  • Adjust or withdraw cookie consent through the cookie banner.
  • Email us to ask what data we hold about you or to request deletion.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as features change. The "Effective" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Ringlink after an update means you accept the revised policy.
