About
About Ringlink
A small, independent web app that removes the "save contact first" step before messaging someone. Built and run from Hong Kong.
Why Ringlink exists
Every day people receive a phone number from a delivery driver, a landlord, a customer, a Facebook Marketplace seller, or a hotel — and want to send a quick WhatsApp or LINE message without polluting their address book with a stranger's contact. WhatsApp famously refuses to open a chat unless the number is already saved. LINE hides unregistered users behind an ID lookup. WeChat requires you to know whether the person uses their phone number or a WeChat ID. Ringlink solves all of this in one page, on any phone or laptop, without downloading an app.
What Ringlink does
- Paste or type any phone number and jump directly into WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, LINE, WeChat, Signal, Viber, Zalo, iMessage, FaceTime, SMS, or a regular voice call.
- Auto-detects the country from your IP so the correct dialing code is pre-selected, and remembers your recent numbers on-device.
- Scan any QR code that contains a phone number, vCard, or a Ringlink share link — no separate scanner app needed.
- Build a shareable digital name card with your photo, company logo, social handles (Instagram, Telegram, Facebook, WeChat, Signal), and address. Share the link or QR anywhere.
- Works as a Progressive Web App: add to Home Screen and it opens like a native app.
- Available in 20 languages including English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, and Arabic.
Who runs Ringlink
Ringlink is built and maintained by RingLink_HK, an independent team based in Hong Kong. We founded the project in 2025 after years of manually typing wa.me/ URLs into a browser to avoid saving delivery drivers to our phones. It got popular fast among friends, then online, so we turned it into a real product.
The team is small and works remotely. We ship updates frequently (usually weekly), read every feedback message, and reply within a few business days. We are not a VC-backed startup and there is no growth team — one engineer, one designer, occasional help from a translator. That's the whole company.
Editorial policy
Our guides are written by the team, not scraped or auto-generated. Every article covers something we've actually shipped, tested, or been asked about by real users. When platforms change (Signal usernames in 2024, iOS 18 RCS, WhatsApp Business API updates), we update the affected guide and bump the "Updated" date.
Corrections: if you spot a mistake, email cs@ringlink.app. We fix it and note the change.
Privacy first
Ringlink does not upload the numbers you type. Your recent numbers, scanned cards, and card designs live in your browser's local storage only. Shared name cards are the exception — those you explicitly publish and are stored on our backend so you can share the link. The full details are on our Privacy Policy.
How we're funded
Ringlink is free. We keep it running with unobtrusive display ads served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-7051011359174389). No paywall, no account required for the core messaging features. If we ever add paid features (custom domain for your name card, team plans, etc.) they will be optional.
